About Missing Periods (Amenorrhoea)
Amenorrhoea means having no periods even though you have reached puberty, are not pregnant and have not reached the menopause. It is often confused with irregular periods, but with amenorrhoea your period does not come at all. Amenorrhoea is not a disease in itself, but it can be caused by an underlying condition that needs prompt attention. Periods can stop for many reasons, and this does not mean you are infertile or cannot conceive. Seek medical advice if irregular periods stop for six months or more, or if regular periods stop for three months or more. Mr Karoshi can find the cause and plan your care at his Harley Street clinic in London.
